The Woods 'Finest' Handmade Bed is quite simply a very comfortable sleep indeed. Developed over many years by William Woods himself, The Woods Finest represents the accumulation of his lifetime knowledge of handmade beds.
William's inspiration for handmade beds began with his apprenticeship at the world renowned Heal & Son bedding factory in the 1970's. As Heals were well known for making the finest beds in the world at this point, William used Heal's finest as his original inspiration when creating The Woods Finest.

In the unlikely event that your bed should begin to age, we take it upon ourselves to remake your bed at a fraction of the cost.
The Topper - which is included in the price below but remains optional, adds a much deeper luxurious and enveloping layer, without compromising the support provided by the mattress underneath. It is hand-sewn and stitched with additional tufts to maintain product stability and protect against excessive settlement, filled with deep layers of Cheviot wool, hand-teased Shropshire top wool, Alpaca and silk and cotton filling layers. The topper is turnable, and the total depth of this inviting layer is 10-12cm.
The Mattress - Double side-stitched and designed with top quality steel pocket springs, individually encased in certified organic flax. Each spring is carefully checked so it can move independently before the rows are stitched into place. This attention to detail guarantees you a comfortable, restful night's sleep all year round. Additionally, the mattresses are available with different spring tensions on each side and are filled with hand-teased English spun long-stranded curled horsetail hair, deep layers of British Cheviot wool, hand-teased super-soft Shropshire top wool, hand-teased fine layers of alpaca, silk and mohair, organic New Zealand lambswool and a luxury sleeping surface consisting of wool, cashmere wool and silk. The mattress depth is 25cm.
The Divan Base - adeptly supportive FSC Scandinavian timber frame, hardwood carrier rails with a pocket sprung true firm edge, hand tied and supported by silent wire, all springs are lined with organic flax to assist noise reduction. Insulated springs with needled horse-hair and filling layers of cotton and naturally bonded Cheviot wool. The divan depth is 20cm with a castor leg depth of 15cm, in total 35cm.
All of the above are finished in a classic Heal & Son style traditional damask design ticking, made from 100% cotton woven in Belgium, The Woods Finest is a truly special sleep.
